Endpoint detection and response collects activity that helps a security team investigate suspicious behavior. It can provide context around what happened and tools to respond, such as isolating a device.
Visibility is useful when someone is responsible for reviewing and acting on it. Owning an EDR license does not automatically mean a human team is monitoring your organization around the clock.
MDR adds a managed service.
Managed detection and response brings people and operational processes into the picture. Review the service’s scope: what is monitored, which actions the provider can take, how escalation works, and what your team remains responsible for.
Compare the actual plans.
ECC offers SentinelOne and CrowdStrike options with different levels of capability. Start with your device count, internal resources, and response requirements. Maintain backups, account controls, and patching alongside endpoint protection.
