A little clarity
Questions, answered.
How do the three bundles differ?
Falcon Defend combines prevention and EDR. Advanced Defend adds proactive threat hunting and controls. Complete Defend includes managed detection and response.
Is threat hunting the same as managed response?
No. Threat hunting looks for suspicious activity and potential intrusions. Managed detection and response adds an operational response service within the provider’s scope.
How do I get started after purchasing?
We will coordinate onboarding and account setup. Deployment requirements and platform compatibility depend on your environment and the selected plan.
Does Falcon Defend include EDR?
Yes. The ECC Falcon Defend bundle includes Falcon Prevent and Falcon Insight endpoint detection and response. The base plan already combines prevention with investigation visibility.
What is the biggest difference between Advanced Defend and Complete Defend?
Advanced Defend adds proactive Falcon OverWatch hunting. Complete Defend adds managed monitoring, investigation, and response through Falcon Complete. Hunting helps surface threats; managed response adds an operational team to help act on them.
Who acts on OverWatch findings?
Your team or your service provider needs a process to evaluate and act on hunting findings. OverWatch hunting should not be treated as the same service as Falcon Complete managed remediation.
Does every Falcon bundle include identity and cloud protection?
No. Falcon is a broader platform, but this page describes the endpoint bundles ECC offers. Additional identity, cloud, SIEM, or other capabilities require confirmation of the selected license and scope.
Do I still need IT staff with Falcon Complete?
Yes. Your organization still manages its business systems, user access, backups, and activities outside the MDR service scope. Falcon Complete supports the security monitoring and response operation for covered endpoints.
What does Falcon Discover add in ECC’s Complete Defend bundle?
It provides inventory and visibility into systems, applications, and account usage, helping your team better understand the environment alongside endpoint protection and managed response.
